Master the secrets to success and embark on Pharmacy journey at Khon Kaen University

Atth: Discovering His Passion Through Hands-on Experience to Secure a Spot in the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Khon Kaen University, via Portfolio Round (TCAS68)

The university admission season for TCAS68 is now underway, with various universities announcing the selection results of high school students aspiring to become undergraduates. This academic year, many students from LSP School have successfully secured placements at leading universities in Thailand and abroad through the first round, known as the Portfolio round.

Today, we introduce you to one of our proudest achievements, Atth Suphakin Sornsiri, a student from the General Health Science track, who discovered his passion for the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences through his active participation in extracurricular activities. By embracing his true self within the school environment, Atth successfully gained admission to the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Khon Kaen University via the Portfolio round.

The Beginning of Atth’s Journey

Atth’s high school journey began with the question of which science track to pursue. Knowing that he did not enjoy physics, he opted for the General Health Science track. His school provided him with an opportunity to visit the Chakri Naruebodindra Medical Institute, where he observed the behind-the-scenes work of medical professionals. This experience sparked his aspiration for a future career in the medical field.

Setting His Sights on the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences

Atth chose to pursue Pharmacy because of his keen interest in laboratory work, drug formulation, and dispensing. He enjoys interacting and communicating with people, which aligns perfectly with the role of a pharmacist who consults patients and collaborates with colleagues. Furthermore, his school arranged an internship at a pharmacy, where he gained hands-on experience and confirmed that this career path was the right fit for him.

Preparation for Admission to the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Khon Kaen University

“I was curious about the Portfolio round, so I asked the TCASter seniors at my school for guidance,” Atth said. His preparation journey began by consulting the Career & College Counseling department at LSP School to develop his Portfolio. He thoroughly studied the admission criteria for the International Programme of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Khon Kaen University, which required a Portfolio submission and an IELTS score of at least 5.0. Throughout the preparation process, the Career & College Counseling team provided constant support, including advice on interview techniques and enrolling him in an IELTS preparation course at Ignite.

LSP School: The Key to His Success

Today, Atth has successfully achieved his goal of gaining admission to theFaculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Khon Kaen University. He attributes his success to the diverse range of activities available at LSP School, which helped him discover his true interests and strengths.

“Trying out different activities reaffirmed my passion and helped me realise my true calling. The school provides various opportunities to explore and confirm if something truly suits us,” Atth shared.
