Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother, deeply valued the role of farmers in nourishing the nation. To support their well-being, she introduced supplementary crafts that villagers could do at home, using their own hands, local materials, and traditional wisdom.

One inspiring example was silk weaving. Her Majesty encouraged not only the weaving itself but also silk farming, planting mulberries and raising silkworms. In 1983, She launched a nationwide silk fabric contest that sparked pride and passion in communities across Thailand.

From the North to the South, She embraced regional talents—from hill-tribe silver and goldsmithing to southern reed and palm-leaf weaving. Her guidance helped elevate everyday skills into cherished national arts, admired both in Thailand and around the world.

ส่งเสริมงานหัตถกรรมจากภูมิปัญญาท้องถิ่น

สมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ พระบรมราชินีนาถ พระบรมราชชนนีพันปีหลวง ทรงเห็นคุณค่าของชาวนาไทยในฐานะผู้เลี้ยงดูประเทศ พระองค์จึงทรงส่งเสริมให้ชาวบ้านมีอาชีพเสริมจากงานหัตถกรรมที่ทำได้ที่บ้าน ใช้วัตถุดิบในท้องถิ่น ผสานภูมิปัญญาและฝีมือของตนเอง

หนึ่งในตัวอย่างที่โดดเด่นคือ “ผ้าไหมไทย” พระองค์ทรงส่งเสริมทั้งการทอผ้า การปลูกหม่อน เลี้ยงไหม และสาวไหม และในปี พ.ศ. 2526 ยังทรงจัดประกวดผ้าไหมทั่วประเทศ เพื่อยกระดับงานฝีมือไทยให้มีคุณค่า

จากเหนือจรดใต้ พระองค์ทรงส่งเสริมงานฝีมือท้องถิ่น ทั้งงานเงิน งานทองของชาวไทยภูเขา และงานสานเสื่อ กระเป๋าเตยทางภาคใต้ ผลงานฝีมือที่เคยเป็นเพียงอาชีพพื้นบ้าน กลับกลายเป็นศิลปะที่ทั่วโลกรู้จักและชื่นชม

Bringing Thai Culture to the World Stage

In 1960, as Her Majesty Queen Sirikit prepared to represent Thailand abroad, She noticed Thai women lacked a national dress. With grace and foresight, She revitalized traditional attire into eight elegant designs—now cherished as “Chut Thai Phra Ratcha Niyom.”

These beautiful outfits blend history with modern style and are worn on formal occasions across Thailand. Her Majesty also inspired the revival of “Khon” masked performances—honoring ancient Thai theatrical traditions. With Her guidance, Khon evolved to captivate both Thai and international audiences, earning UNESCO recognition in 2018.

Through Her Majesty’s dedication, Thai culture has not only been preserved —but proudly celebrated on the world stage.

ยกระดับวัฒนธรรมไทยสู่สากล

เมื่อปี พ.ศ. 2503 ขณะเตรียมเสด็จเยือนต่างประเทศ สมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ พระบรมราชินีนาถ พระบรมราชชนนีพันปีหลวง ทรงเห็นว่าหญิงไทยยังไม่มีชุดประจำชาติ จึงทรงปรับปรุงเครื่องแต่งกายไทยให้ทันสมัย งดงาม และเหมาะสมกับการเป็นตัวแทนประเทศไทย

ชุดไทยพระราชนิยมทั้ง 8 แบบ ได้กลายเป็นชุดที่สง่างามและเป็นที่นิยมในโอกาสต่าง ๆ ไม่เพียงแต่ในประเทศไทยเท่านั้น แต่ยังได้รับความชื่นชมจากทั่วโลก

นอกจากนี้ พระองค์ยังทรงฟื้นฟูการแสดง “โขน” ซึ่งเป็นศิลปะชั้นสูงของไทย ให้กลับมามีชีวิตชีวาอีกครั้ง ด้วยความวิจิตรของฉาก เครื่องแต่งกาย และเทคนิคการแสดง จนได้รับการยกย่องจาก UNESCO ให้เป็นมรดกโลกทางวัฒนธรรมในปี พ.ศ. 2561

Caring for the Nation’s Health with Compassion

Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother, always placed people’s well-being at the heart of her mission. During royal visits, she ensured doctors treated the sick and even arranged for patients needing special care to be transferred to Bangkok hospitals.

To reach more people in remote areas, She founded the Royal Medical Units —teams of doctors who travel nationwide offering free healthcare. Even for families who couldn’t afford treatment, Her Majesty provided support, education, or vocational training through Silapacheep projects.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Her Majesty generously donated essential medical supplies and protective equipment to hospitals across the country, helping safeguard the nation’s healthcare heroes.

สายใยแห่งความห่วงใย เพื่อสุขภาพของคนไทย

สมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ พระบรมราชินีนาถ พระบรมราชชนนีพันปีหลวง ทรงห่วงใยสุขภาพของประชาชนมาโดยตลอด ทุกครั้งที่เสด็จเยี่ยมราษฎร ทรงมีพระราชประสงค์ให้แพทย์ถวายการรักษา และหากพบว่ามีผู้ป่วยต้องการแพทย์เฉพาะทาง ก็จะทรงส่งตัวไปรักษาที่โรงพยาบาลในกรุงเทพฯ

เพื่อให้การดูแลสุขภาพเข้าถึงผู้คนได้มากขึ้น พระองค์จึงทรงก่อตั้ง "หน่วยแพทย์พระราชทาน" ที่ออกเดินทางไปตรวจรักษาประชาชนทั่วประเทศโดยไม่คิดค่าใช้จ่าย

แม้ในช่วงวิกฤตโควิด-19 พระองค์ยังคงทรงเมตตา โดยพระราชทานอุปกรณ์การแพทย์และชุดป้องกันให้กับโรงพยาบาล และบุคลากรทางการแพทย์ทั่วประเทศ

Turning Talent Into Livelihoods

Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother, believed in the power of Thai craftsmanship. She established the Bang Sai Arts and Crafts Centre in Ayutthaya, a place where farmers and their families could learn traditional and fine crafts for free.

Starting with just a few departments, the Centre now offers over 30 specializations, from weaving and pottery to sculpture and Khon mask-making. It has produced generations of skilled artisans and preserved Thai heritage through hands-on education.

Today, Bang Sai is also a cultural destination. Visitors can watch artisans at work, explore exhibitions, and purchase beautiful handmade goods. It’s not just a school—it’s a living celebration of Thai creativity.

เปลี่ยนฝีมือให้เป็นอาชีพ สร้างคุณค่าสู่สังคม

สมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ พระบรมราชินีนาถ พระบรมราชชนนีพันปีหลวง ทรงเชื่อมั่นในพลังของฝีมือคนไทย จึงทรงก่อตั้ง “ศูนย์ศิลปาชีพบางไทร” จังหวัดพระนครศรีอยุธยา เพื่อให้ชาวนาและครอบครัวได้เรียนรู้หัตถกรรมไทยโดยไม่เสียค่าใช้จ่าย

จากจุดเริ่มต้นเพียงไม่กี่แผนก ปัจจุบันศูนย์ฯ เปิดสอนกว่า 30 สาขา ตั้งแต่งานทอผ้า งานปั้น งานแกะสลัก ไปจนถึงงานทำหัวโขน สร้างช่างฝีมือรุ่นใหม่จำนวนมาก พร้อมสืบสานวัฒนธรรมไทยอย่างยั่งยืน

นอกจากนี้ ศูนย์ฯ ยังเปิดเป็นแหล่งเรียนรู้และแหล่งท่องเที่ยวที่ให้ประชาชนเข้าชม เลือกซื้อผลงานฝีมือจริงจากช่างและนักเรียน เป็นพื้นที่แห่งแรงบันดาลใจและศิลปะไทยที่มีชีวิต

Farming Smarter, Living Better

Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother, always supported Thai farmers, not just with tools, but with knowledge and opportunities. She promoted research into local crops, herbs, and animal breeds, ensuring farming methods were practical, low-cost, and sustainable.

To help farmers adapt, Her Majesty encouraged them not to depend on a single crop, but to diversify for stability and self-reliance. Projects like the Highland Agricultural Development Stations helped communities conserve forests, improve water access, and earn from local resources.

After the floods in Ang Thong Province, She also initiated the Royal Initiative Model Farm, offering shelter, food, and farming guidance to help families rebuild their lives.

เกษตรพัฒนา ชีวิตยั่งยืน

สมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ พระบรมราชินีนาถ พระบรมราชชนนีพันปีหลวง ทรงส่งเสริมให้เกษตรกรไทยมีความรู้และโอกาสในการพัฒนาตนเอง ไม่ใช่แค่เครื่องมือเท่านั้น แต่รวมถึงการค้นคว้าพืชพื้นถิ่น พืชสมุนไพร และพันธุ์สัตว์ที่เหมาะสมกับแต่ละภูมิภาค

พระองค์ทรงเน้นว่า เกษตรกรไม่ควรพึ่งพาพืชเพียงชนิดเดียว เพราะอาจเสี่ยงต่อภัยธรรมชาติหรือความผันผวนของตลาด จึงควรมีรายได้เสริมควบคู่กันเพื่อความมั่นคง

ในพื้นที่สูง ทรงจัดตั้ง “สถานีพัฒนาการเกษตรที่สูงตามพระราชดำริ” เพื่อฟื้นฟูป่า ดูแลแหล่งน้ำ และสร้างอาชีพจากทรัพยากรธรรมชาติอย่างสมดุล และภายหลังเหตุอุทกภัยที่อ่างทอง พระองค์ยังทรงตั้ง “โครงการฟาร์มตัวอย่าง” เพื่อเป็นศูนย์ฟื้นฟูชีวิตและแหล่งอาหารแก่ชุมชน

Lifting Lives Through Learning

Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother, believed that education is the foundation of a better life. She supported children in need, funding their schooling, vocational training, or even university if they showed determination.

For students in remote areas, Her Majesty established schools like Chaomae Luang Upatham 1 and 2, offering accessible education for hill-tribe children. She also cared deeply for children with disabilities, ensuring they, too, had the opportunity to learn and grow.

Beyond the classroom, She created the “Sala Ruam Jai” (Unity Pavilion) libraries across the country, community spaces for lifelong learning, helping people of all ages adapt to a changing world.

การศึกษาเปลี่ยนชีวิต สู่อนาคตที่มั่นคง

สมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ พระบรมราชินีนาถ พระบรมราชชนนีพันปีหลวง ทรงเชื่อมั่นว่าการศึกษาเป็นรากฐานสำคัญของชีวิตที่ดีขึ้น พระองค์ทรงสนับสนุนเด็กยากไร้ในการเรียน ทั้งการศึกษาสายสามัญ การเรียนต่อในระดับมหาวิทยาลัย หรือการฝึกอาชีพตามความเหมาะสม

พระองค์ทรงจัดตั้งโรงเรียน เช่น เจ้าแม่หลวงอุปถัมภ์ 1 และ 2 เพื่อให้เด็กไทยภูเขาในพื้นที่ห่างไกลได้รับการศึกษาอย่างทั่วถึง และยังทรงให้โอกาสแก่เด็กพิการที่มีความสามารถ ได้เรียนรู้และเติบโตเช่นเดียวกัน

นอกเหนือจากโรงเรียน พระองค์ยังทรงจัดตั้ง “ศาลารวมใจ” ห้องสมุดชุมชนที่เปิดโอกาสให้ทุกเพศทุกวัย ได้เรียนรู้ตลอดชีวิต เพื่อก้าวทันความเปลี่ยนแปลงของสังคมและพึ่งพาตนเองได้อย่างมั่นคง

Faith, Respect, and Unity

Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother, saw religion as a guiding light in people’s lives, offering strength, compassion, and moral values. She was a devoted Buddhist and regularly participated in religious ceremonies with His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great.

With equal respect, Her Majesty supported all major religions in Thailand —including Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Brahmanism, and Sikhism, recognizing each one’s role in uniting and uplifting communities.

Whether attending temple ceremonies or engaging in Dhamma discussions with monks, Her Majesty led by example, showing that respect for faith brings people together in peace.

ศรัทธา ความเคารพ และความเป็นหนึ่งเดียว

สมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ พระบรมราชินีนาถ พระบรมราชชนนีพันปีหลวง ทรงตระหนักว่าศาสนาเป็นแสงนำทางในชีวิตมนุษย์ สร้างความเข้มแข็ง ความเมตตา และคุณธรรมในสังคม

พระองค์ทรงเป็นพุทธศาสนิกชนผู้ศรัทธา และทรงร่วมพิธีทางศาสนากับพระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัว รัชกาลที่ 9 อยู่เสมอ

พร้อมกันนี้ พระองค์ยังทรงอุปถัมภ์ศาสนาอื่น ๆ อย่างเสมอภาค ไม่ว่าจะเป็นศาสนาคริสต์ อิสลาม พราหมณ์ฮินดู หรือซิกข์ เพราะทรงเห็นว่าทุกศาสนาต่างมีคุณค่าในการหล่อหลอมจิตใจและรวมผู้คนให้เป็นหนึ่งเดียว

Protecting Nature, Preserving Life

Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother, has long held a deep love for Thailand’s natural environment. During her visits to northern forests, She often walked the hills, personally reporting any signs of forest fires and urging reforestation efforts.

In 1982, She initiated the “Pa Rak Nam” project, reforesting degraded lands and involving local villagers in protecting nature. Under her guidance, fast-growing trees were planted to shelter valuable hardwoods, ensuring both conservation and community benefit.

Her Majesty also turned Her care to marine life. Concerned about the decline of sea turtles, she launched Thailand’s first sea turtle conservation project, which continues to protect these gentle creatures today.

ดูแลธรรมชาติ เพื่อชีวิตที่ยั่งยืน

สมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ พระบรมราชินีนาถ พระบรมราชชนนีพันปีหลวง ทรงรักธรรมชาติและตระหนักถึงคุณค่าของป่าไม้ ต้นน้ำ และทรัพยากรธรรมชาติในการหล่อเลี้ยงชีวิต

เมื่อเสด็จประทับแรมที่ภาคเหนือ พระองค์จะเสด็จพระราชดำเนินขึ้นเขา และรายงานจุดเกิดไฟป่าแก่เจ้าหน้าที่ พร้อมส่งเสริมการปลูกป่าอย่างจริงจัง

ในปี พ.ศ. 2525 ทรงริเริ่ม “โครงการป่ารักน้ำ” โดยปลูกต้นไม้บนพื้นที่เสื่อมโทรมและให้ชาวบ้านมีส่วนร่วมดูแลสิ่งแวดล้อม ควบคู่ไปกับการสร้างรายได้

พระองค์ยังทรงห่วงใยสัตว์ทะเล โดยเฉพาะเต่าทะเลที่ใกล้สูญพันธุ์ จึงทรงจัดตั้ง “โครงการอนุรักษ์พันธุ์เต่าทะเล” เพื่อฟื้นฟูประชากรเต่าให้อยู่คู่ท้องทะเลไทยต่อไป

A Legacy of Craftsmanship and Cultural Pride

Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother, believed that every Thai carries the spirit of craftsmanship in their blood. To nurture this potential, she established the Foundation for the Promotion of Supplementary Occupations in 1976, enabling rural people to earn from handmade crafts without abandoning their farming roots.

In 1978, She opened a small training tent at Chitralada Villa. Over time, it blossomed into a full institution and became the Sirikit Institute in 2010. Today, it is Thailand’s leading centre for training master artisans and preserving Thai cultural heritage.

The Arts of the Kingdom Museum in Ayutthaya showcases works by these artisans, national treasures admired around the world. It stands as a symbol of Her Majesty’s enduring legacy in art, culture, and opportunity.

รากฐานของความภาคภูมิใจในงานฝีมือไทย

สมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ พระบรมราชินีนาถ พระบรมราชชนนีพันปีหลวง ทรงเชื่อว่า “คนไทยมีสายเลือดของช่างฝีมืออยู่ในทุกคน” จึงทรงก่อตั้ง “มูลนิธิส่งเสริมศิลปาชีพ” ในปี พ.ศ. 2519 เพื่อให้ชาวบ้านมีรายได้จากงานหัตถกรรมควบคู่กับการทำเกษตรกรรม

จากเต็นท์ฝึกอบรมเล็ก ๆ ภายในสวนจิตรลดาในปี พ.ศ. 2521 กลายเป็น “สถาบันสิริกิติ์” ในปี พ.ศ. 2553 ที่ทำหน้าที่ผลิตช่างฝีมือชั้นสูงและสืบสานศิลปวัฒนธรรมไทยอย่างต่อเนื่อง

ผลงานชิ้นเอกจากช่างศิลปาชีพเหล่านี้ถูกรวบรวมไว้ที่ “พิพิธภัณฑ์ศิลป์แผ่นดิน” จังหวัดพระนครศรีอยุธยา เป็นสมบัติของชาติที่ชาวไทยและนานาชาติให้ความชื่นชม และเป็นอนุสรณ์แห่งพระราชภารกิจอันยิ่งใหญ่ของพระองค์
